The California Association of School Health
Educators (CASHE) was founded
in the late 1970s by Mr. Ric Loya, the Father of Health Education in California.
Other
founding fathers include the late Mr. Mike Smith and Mr.
Mike Whitington. Ric Loya, and
CASHE, is continuously dedicated
to kids, teachers and community service, which will help the youth of
America live healthier lives. Ric spearheaded numerous programs related to
Health Education throughout schools in California and the nation. His
leadership, dedication and genuine love of people have made CASHE the respected
organization it is today. His statewide and national reputation to promote
health education advocacy serves as a driving force for the CASHE Executive
board.
The
CASHE motto For Today, Health Education is the Cure is realized by a strong
sense of commitment for youth of all ages. CASHE lobbies for state and national
laws to better prepare children today to live healthier lives in the future.
This goal is met by:

newsletter publications and numerous volunteer
activities by the board and CASHE membership
